About IFC Certification


IFC Certification Ltd. was formally formed in August 2003 following an initiative in 2001 by sister company International Fire Consultants Ltd. The fast track of the Company’s development began in June of 2003 driven by clients seeking a credible alternative to the other product certification providers in the market place.




Graham Wiles, Managing Director, is also a Director of the International Fire Consultants Group. Graham has been involved in steering and developing the IFC Group into a leading brand in the fire safety sector for over twenty years. IFC Group companies are recognised Certification and Approvals Bodies, providing our clients with high quality, independent, professional services on all fire safety issues. The ethos Graham promotes within the IFC Group is delivery of high quality, technically sound and robust engineering advice, offering Clients both quality and value.  We aim to lead the industry in terms of innovation and setting of technical standards, building upon yet moving established methods and technologies forward.



Bob Williams, Certification Director, joined IFCC in February 2008 having managed a major fire protection certification business for the previous 12 years. Bob has over 37 years experience in a variety of roles in the fire protection business. Having started in 1973 with a major producer of calcium silicate boards he then managed a fire test laboratory before joining another fire testing and consultancy organisation as Technical Manager which included a period working in the Far East. Bob is currently expanding and developing IFC Certification’s product and installer certification and site inspection services in selected international markets as well as strengthening its position in the UK and Europe.



Peter Jackman, Technical Director, is the Chairman and Technical Director of International Fire Consultants Group. He is a UK expert on several International Fire Safety committees, was the lead author of the BS476: Part 20: 1987 series of fire resistance test methods, and the author of BS8214 on fire doors. Peter also acts as the technical consultant and expert to a number of trade associations including the Intumescent Fire Seals Association (IFSA). Having witnessed well over 1,000 full scale fire tests, he is also the Chairman of the British Standards (BS) committee responsible for developing fire resistance testing procedures, overseeing the introduction of the new EN tests into BSI and the extrapolation and use of such results for applications in buildings. Peter was involved in the design and setting up of the fire testing laboratory and was the principal fire consultant for the Timber Research Association, where he worked for 15 years prior to setting up International Fire Consultants Ltd. (IFC) in 1985. Peter set up IFC to broaden the application of fire testing and to look at all aspects of fire safety solutions.
