How do we apply for registration in the
schemes?

We require all applicants to complete the standard application
form F07 [link insert here] which asks for information on the
products that are manufactured. Once this completed and signed
application form has been received, IFC Certification staff will
review the content and (if applicable) will ask for further information
before issuing your company with an individual quotation. |

How much does it cost to gain your certification?
|
A:

Each applicant for each scheme will be quoted at the point of application.
The fee for basic membership of each scheme may vary with the complexity
of the applicants request for certification. However, all fees
are competitive with the other providers of certification in the
UK and Worldwide market place. |

Who are IFC Certification Ltd?

IFC Certification Ltd was formed in August 2003 by Jerry Quayle,
Graham Wiles and Peter Jackman in response to demands from the
fire products industry conveyed to International Fire Consultants
Ltd our sister company offering design and consultancy advice to
the fire industry since 1985. |

Who approves your certification? |

IFC Certification is UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service)
approved as an independent third party Certification Body offering
products certification, accredited against the Standard EN 45011.
Additionally we are approved as a pre-Notified Body under the
requirements of the Construction Products Directive (CPD) for
CE Marking of Construction Products [insert link to letter from
ODPM]. After considerable work in the Middle East IFC Certification
has gained approval for the Dubai Emirate as a certification
body {insert link to DCD]. IFC Certification continue to work
with many regulatory authorities to gain their approval of our
services as a truly independent certification Body and future
approvals will be posted on the website. |

Is 3rd party certification mandatory in
the UK?
|

|
In some sectors of the construction industry 3rd Party Certification
is indeed mandatory however; in most it is not mandatory but
advisable. The Building Regulations identifies the importance
of 3rd Party Certification is demonstrating that products and
services are of good quality and can demonstrate that they are
fit for purpose having been independently checked or verified.
This is clearly stated in their document Approved Document for
Regulation 7 (1999) by listing Independent certification scheme
as a way of demonstrating fitness for purpose [Section 1 clause
