About Us
THE COMPANY
 |
The Company was formed in August 2003 following
an initiative started in 2001 by sister company International Fire
Consultants Ltd. However, the opportunity to fast track the Company’s
development began when Jerry Quayle was introduced to International
Fire Consultants Ltd. in June of 2003 by sympathetic clients of both
International Fire Consultants and Q-MAC, who were seeking a credible
alternative to the other product certification providers in the market
place.

WHO ARE IFC CERTIFICATION?
Director of Certification, Jerry
Quayle, started his career in the Certification Industry in 1997
having spent many years in technical
and technical sales in the construction industry. His initial post
was with BM TRADA Certification where he was Product Certification
Manager, but his potential to develop business was quickly recognised
in the industry and he was approached by BRE Certification. Jerry
rose quickly to be Product Certification & Technical Approvals Manager,
responsible for all construction related schemes, reporting directly
to the Managing Director. After a brief, but successful period, as
a Business & Quality Consultant running his own consultancy/(Q-MAC),
Jerry joined IFC Certification at the beginning of August 2003. Jerry
says “Product Certification must be: independent, technically
accurate, client facing, forward thinking and cost effective, our Company
offers all of these aspects of certification to the fire industry with
responsiveness as a key element”. |

PRODUCT CERTIFICATION
Member companies of the IFC Group are already operating
to well established ISO 9001; 2000 procedures and have operated quality
control procedures since inception. IFC Certification Ltd. has gone beyond
this to the next level and having applied for UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation
Service) accreditation to EN45011, this was achieved in March 2004 after
just 5 months. The EN45011 standard has enable us to issue our clients
with certificates carrying the UKAS approval mark, further demonstrating
our independence and continued commitment to quality, not only of the certification
schemes but also the overall service that we provide to the fire safety
industry.
We assess products for compliance to both our scheme documents and any
pertinent Standards – International, European, British or Industry,
followed by an assessment of the clients company’s manufacturing
compliance with their documented Factory Production Control (FPC) systems.
The purpose of our assessment, in this regard, is to assure ourselves,
our clients and the end user of the manufacturer’s ability to maintain
quality and traceability of their manufactured goods.
Product certification not only includes prime manufacturers but also those
companies who install fire products, such as doors and vision panels, as
they in turn also produce a finished product e.g. a door in a wall or a
window in a door.
